These instructions are for the Adtoniq for DFP WordPress plugin. This optional plugin configures Adtoniq to use your own DoubleClick account for ad block detection. To use this plugin, you’ll need to create a special, hidden, 1×1 ad unit that the Adtoniq plugin will automatically traffic on all your pages. This ad will be invisible to your end users.
Inside your DoubleClick for Publishers system, create an ad unit to your inventory that looks like the image below. Be sure to disable AdSense for this ad unit, and you can set the size to 1×1.
Then in your Deliver / Orders system, create a new order and put one line item in it that looks like this – make sure to traffic the order in the new ad unit:
Save and upload a new third-party creative and use the following Code snippet:
The Creative screen should look as below. Make sure SafeFrame is disabled just for this one creative.
Make sure to approve and enable everything else necessary to traffic the ad unit on your web site, as you would for any other ad unit. Note: You do not need to modify your website to place this new ad unit on your pages. Our plugin automatically attempts to load this ad unit to determine whether an ad blocker is present. After approving this ad, there is nothing else you need to do from the DoubleClick side.
When you install the Adtoniq WordPress Plugin, you will need to enter your DoubleClick account number and name of the ad unit in the admin interface in the Adtoniq for DFP screen. You can obtain your DFP Network code and ad unit code from DFP.
We have ads on our site so we can provide live demonstrations of various adblock remediation strategies on a real website. As you browse this site with an ad blocker, you will see different ad block remediation strategies on different pages.
